Abstract:
The Open Learning Metaverse developed by Shanghai Open University integrates three core formats—live-streaming, interactive, and complete reality simulation—and supports five key teaching scenarios: art education, emergency management training, intelligent finance, artificial intelligence, and practical training for cognitive impairment in the elderly. By adopting experiential, game-based, and practice-oriented teaching methods, the platform creates a deeply immersive learning environment where gamified tasks enhance engagement, enjoyment, and interactivity. Moreover, the integration of an AI teaching assistant enables real-time, natural language feedback, allowing learners to carry out complex practical training within a virtual environment, significantly reducing both cost and risk.
